RC Girls Basketball
The Rush City girls basketball team traveled to Foley and lost 68-53 to the Falcons Tuesday, Jan. 3. The Tigers then hosted and defeated the Pine City Dragons 62-46 Friday, Jan. 6. Senior team member Danica Schellbach scored her 1000th point. Schellbach was 17 points short of the mark at the start of the game, but reached the milestone off of a pass from Kristy Carlson in the first half. Coach Mark Henrich presented Schellbach with a plaque commemorating her accomplishment in front of a cheering crowd. The Rush City girls basketball team is ranked second in the Great River Conference with 4-0 conference and 6-2 overall record. The Tigers will travel to East Central High School in Finlayson to face the Eagles (2-8) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10.
