Christine M. Johnson of Wahkon, Minn., passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 after losing the battle with cancer she had fought since March of 2008. She was 59 years old.
Christine was born at Kanabec Hospital in Mora, Minn., to John and Sally Hetznecker. She graduated from Isle High School in 1970. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Paul Pinz and ran Isle Bowling Lanes for the next 18 years.
Chris went on to obtain an Associate Degree for a Dietetic Technician and was employed by Lakeside Medical Center in Pine City, Minn., where she met and married Dennis B. Johnson in 1997.
Chris is survived by her husband Dennis B. Johnson, aunt Irene Creatore and her cousin Linda Creatore.
Chris was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Sally Hetznecker and Joe and Anna Saumer. She is also preceded in death by her parents John and Frances Hetznecker who owned and operated the Isle Hotel and St. Anthony Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon with Father Greg Poser OSC officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home in Isle as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.
Casketbearers are Doug Johnson, Richard Friday, Larry Anderson, Glenn Stream, Stewart Crawford, Greg Ebnet and Emil Moss. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wahkon.
