The North Branch boys basketball team hosted and lost to the Fridley Tigers 76-41 on Jan. 17.
“Fridley has a really quality squad with a lot of athleticism and speed, which gave us problems the whole night,” said Coach David Anderson. “We had a couple good performances off the bench; Jon Blomquist came in and gave us an offensive spark. His younger brother Matt also came in and played pretty well in the second half. Fridley did a great job of locking up Travis, and their pressure on the ball really limited his game. When Travis gets shut-down we have a difficult time getting our offensive into a good rhythm and it showed during several stretches of the game. Our guys are excited for the chance to play three of the top teams in the state: St. Louis Park, Spring Lake Park and Benilde. Playing such high level competition will be a great experience and another opportunity to compete and improve.”
