SF/NB girls hockey almost catches Eagles
The St. Francis/North Branch girls hockey team (with Justine Mendez, Mallory Olson and Erynn Downey, all of North Branch) traveled and lost 5-4 to the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles on Jan. 17 before hosting and losing 6-1 to the #9 state-ranked Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats. Downey scored a goal and made an assist in the game against Bloomington Kennedy.
The Fighting Saints, with a 3-18-1 overall and 1-7 North Suburban Conference record, will travel to St. Louis Park Recreation Center to face the #1 state-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights (17-2) at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.
