Area hockey squad competing strong

The Pine City Squirt C hockey team earned second place in the Red Wing Tournament on Jan. 6-8, prior to winning the consolation championship trophy in a second tournament Jan. 20-22 in Forest Lake. The team — including Rush City players Jacob Groehler (#31), Hunter Minke (#34) and goalie Logan Belau (#40) — also received a pizza party because it donated more than 300 lbs. of food to the local food shelf.
