Darlene A. Kees, age 73 of Rush City, died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Golden LivingCenter in Rush City.
Darlene was born on June 3, 1938 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to parents Donald and Marie (Divnoi) Hetrick. She moved with her family to the St. Paul area where she attended St. Agnes School.
She spent many years working as a bartender and waitress at the Cornerstone Restaurant and the Rustic Inn.
Darlene loved sewing, dancing and listening to music.
She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was also known as “Mom” by many people she knew in the area.
Darlene is survived by her children: Mike Rothmeier of Lino Lakes; John Albrecht of North Branch; Butch (Louise) Rothmeier of New Ricmond, Wis.; Linda Stein of Inver Grove Heights and Donnette (Trever) Williams of Harris; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Private family interment will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
