Vault to victory

Alecia Meier took first on floor and fifth on beam to finish sixth all-around in the meet against Forest Lake.

On Jan. 24, the Rush City/Pine City/ Hinckley-Finlayson gymnastics team outscored Forest Lake 133.125-130.0 at home.

Cassidy Dunkley (H-F) took first on vault and beam and second on bars and floor to earn first all-around; Katelyn Meier (RC) placed second on beam, third on vault and fifth on bars and floor to take third all-around; Bailey Murawski (RC) came in fourth on vault and bars and sixth on beam and floor to place fourth all-around; Alecia Meier (RC) took first on floor and fifth on beam to finish sixth all-around; and Kylee Berube (PC) placed third on bars.

The junior varsity team defeated Forest Lake 112.1-100.0 with Bailey Molberg earning first and Marie Larson second all-around.

The team then hosted a triangular last week and scored 135.85 to place ahead of North Branch with 132.85 and Grantsburg with 117.75.

 

The Rush City/Pine City/ Hinckley-Finlayson gymnastics team will compete a tournament at Princeton High School at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. The Tigers will then compete in the 4A Section Championship at Chisago Lakes Area High School in Lindstrom at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, where the first place team and any individuals placing fourth or higher in each event as well as the all-around will qualify to advance to the state meet.
