The 14th Annual Chisago County Master Gardener (CCMG) Spring Gardening Bonanza will be held on Saturday, March 10. The CCMG (an outreach of the University of MN Extension Service), in partnership with the Chisago Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), have put together a very interesting line-up of classes and a diversified group of vendors who will be exhibiting new gardening items for 2012.
You can choose to attend classes from the following list: Landscaping for Septics, Growing Blueberries,Vermiculture, Native Plants for Butterflies and Bees, Adding Color & Texture to your Shade Garden, Preservation of Fruits & Vegetables, Edible Landscaping, Container Gardening, Apple Orchard Basics, Planting for Water Quality, Name that Invasive, CCMG Panel ~ Favorite Tips & Famous Flops.
The speakers for the day will include Casey Thiel, Chisago SWCD Water Resource Specialist, who will talk about “Planting for Water Quality” and Mary Jo Youngbauer, SWCD Water Resource Technician, whose topic is “Name that Invasive.”
Keynote Speaker, U of MN Professor Terry Nennich, will speak on “Advancements in Vegetable and Small Fruit Production.”
Pre-registration is encouraged. Classes fill up fast as the cost is only $10 for the entire day.
