Amy Ouse is ‘Employee of the Year’ at Golden LivingCenter

Licensed social worker Amy Ouse has been recognized for making a difference at Golden LivingCenter.

Ouse, a part of the Rush City team since 2007, was recently selected as Employee of the Year based on her contributions to a resident on the Alzheimer’s Care Unit and role as an interdisciplinary team member. It is at the Alzheimer’s unit where she is responsible for providing social services.

Additionally, Ouse took on the role as interim executive director during the summer of 2011 and admissions coordinator.

“Amy is a dedicated member of our team. Her passion for our residents and their families is apparent in everything she does,” noted Kelsey Callahan, executive director of Golden LivingCenter.

Said Anne and LeAnne Renteria, family members of a LivingCenter resident, “We cannot tell you enough how much Amy’s care and concern for Joe means to us. Since his day of arrival she has treated him with respect and compassion. We feel secure knowing that she is there to help Joe and meet any needs that he may have. We appreciate the love and support she shows our family as well as all the other residents and their families.”

A caregiver of nine years, Ouse says the most rewarding part of her job is getting to know the people she cares for, and knowing she is making a difference in their lives. She feels blessed to be part of the residents and their families’ lives during their journey with Alzheimer’s dementia.

Ouse holds an Alzheimer’s support group on the fourth Thursday of every month from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Rush City Senior Center. The LivingCenter, 650 South Bremer Ave., Rush City, can be reached at 320-358-4765.
