“It’s going to be a “big bash,” said famed accordion player and Minnesota entertainer Florian Chmielewski. Chmielewski will lend his popular polka style music to the exciting event being held at the Rush City VFW Sunday, Feb. 19, 1-4 p.m.

It’s a celebration of Valentine’s Day, he said, and a lot more. It will also be in honor of the birthdays of several ladies named Doris and Florian himself, whose 85th birthday was on the 10th.

There will be music and dancing and lots of fun, he said, adding that he is serious about promoting local VFWs.

Booked already this year for a number of performances at county fairs and polka events around the state, Chmielewski said he enjoys entertaining “immensely.” But, he mused, he seems to be doing more of it than ever before and he’s retired.

If you enjoy the tunes on an accordion and a chance to kick up your heels with a polka or two, why not stop by the RC VFW this Sunday.
