Rush City/Braham wrestler Brady Anderson was defeated in the first round of the State Wrestling Championships last Friday.

Anderson, a Rush City senior, lost by decision 7-0 to freshman Andre Fogarty of Scott West in the 138 weight class. Fogarty then lost to his Foley opponent to end any hopes of a wrestleback for Anderson. Fogarty ended up placing third, while the Foley wrestler took champion runner-up.

“We finished off the year fairly strong,” said Coach Josh Moulton. “We are looking forward to next year already with only losing four seniors, two of which were starters. We should be able to contend for a conference title as well as placing high in tournaments. We will have a lot of returners as well as some new faces. One of our goals for next year is to be able to field two teams all season. We have a great bunch of young guys looking to step up and lead the way.”
