A structure fire that is suspected to be accidental claimed a life at a residence on Olinda Trail in Lindstrom.
Lakes Area Police officers responded to the call at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, and found the residence filled with smoke and an actively burning fire. The blaze was contained to a single room and appeared to have been burning for several hours.
The Lindstrom Fire Department located the deceased in the upstairs living room when conducting an interior search of the building. The victim’s name was not released, as family members have yet to be notified.
The Chisago City and Center City fire departments provided mutual aid and assisted with fire operations. The state Fire Marshall’s Office will be investigating the origins of the fire.
