The season ended for the #9 section seeded North Branch boys basketball team when it faced #8 seed Chisago Lakes Area in the first round of Section 7AAA Championship playoffs last Wednesday.

The Vikings started out looking good, and at the half the game was tied 25-25. But the Wildcats came back out hot, while the Vikings went cold, and in the end North Branch was sent home with a 61-44 loss.

“It was a tough way to end our season,” said Coach David Anderson. “We played extremely well in the first half. We were patient, didn’t commit a lot of turnovers and were selective with our shots. Our guys played their hearts out, but it just wasn’t our night. Our two seniors Tyler Knobbe and Tom Kinsella gave us great efforts, and we are going to miss having them next year. Our younger guys had great role models to look up to this season, and they helped lay the foundation for the success we will have over the next few years.”

The North Branch boys basketball team ended the 2011-12 season 11th in the North Suburban Conference with a 0-16 conference and 3-24 overall record.
