Margaret L. Magnison
Margaret was born on July 27, 1922 in St. Paul to parents, Axel and Eleanore (Larson) Erickson. Margaret contracted TB early in life and had to spend time at the State Hospital near Walker before returning to her family in North Branch. She attended North Branch schools and graduated in 1940.
She married Alvin Magnison on November 4, 1946 at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage.
Margaret worked the Montgomery Ward’s Dept. Store in St. Paul during the war years and later worked at Don’s Cash Store in North Branch before operating her own beauty shop out of her home for many years.
She was a member of the Garden Club, North Branch Civic Club and the Chisago County Historical Society.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was the head of the Funeral Committee for many years.
Margaret was an avid reader especially reading fiction and Pioneer Women books. She was a great historian and kept records of North Branch and the surrounding area.
Margaret is survived by her brother in laws, Milton (Gloria) Magnison of New Brighton and Loren (Jane) Magnison of North Branch; nieces and nephews, Cale Magnison of Apple Valley, Spencer (Jessie) Magnison of North Branch and Brenda (Michael) Leong of Eagan; great nieces and nephews, Jessica and Justin Leong and Lauren and Carter Magnison.
She is also survived by special friends, Don Foster and Jan Liske and many, many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Eleanor, Husband, Alvin in 1986 and an infant sister, Phyllis in 1927.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Gary Guptill officiating. Music will be provided by Debra Aulich and Jon Ekstrom. Interment followed the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.
Serving as casket bearers are Cale Magnison, Spencer Magnison, Michael Leong, Don Foster, Andrew Foster and Nathan Foster. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch.
