East Central Energy will it holds its 76th annual meeting Saturday, April 14 at the Rush City high school beginning at 8 a.m.
ECE invites members to bring their families and get acquainted with their cooperative.
2012 is the International Year of the Cooperative, a global celebration of the advantages of member-owned businesses. ECE highlights those advantages at its annual meeting, a fun social event and an opportunity for members to learn about their cooperative, ask questions and take part in the business proceedings.
Free licensed child care will be available throughout the event.
The day begins with a free pancake breakfast. A wellness component has been added this year, including blood pressure checks, dental health information, hand/wrist massages, and a health walk for prizes.
Popular annual activities such as bingo and the bucket truck rides will return.
There will be displays focusing on ECE’s energy-saving programs, electrical safety demonstrations and information on the co-op’s community involvement.
The business meeting begins at 10:15 a.m. ECE President/CEO Steve Shurts will review the cooperative’s financial report for 2011 and recap significant events from the co-op’s 75th year. The three directors elected by acclamation, Mike Kapalin, district 1, David Cartwright, district 3, and David Tellinghuisen, district 6, will be introduced.
