Local businesses gave back to the community

To the Editor:

During the month of March, also known as Food Share Month, several North Branch businesses get together each year for some fun competing in a timed race accumulating food in grocery carts while running through the aisles of County Market. These businesses compete to see which can obtain the most food in the allotted time with each team donating their food cache to our North Branch Food Pantry. This year’s total cash and food contributed totalled $5,127.

I’d like to thank the following businesses that so generously give back to their community: Anderson Koch Ford, Carchedi Real Estate, Concrete Pump Repair, Custom Headed Products, County Market, Gustafson Excavating, Jennings DeWan & Anderson, North Branch Outlets, Peterson’s North Branch Mill, Peoples National Bank, Reider Machine, Sun Dental, and this year’s race winning team, Lakes Region EMS (a feat of which Todd Fisk will remind us for the next 12 months).
