St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stacy will hold its 25th Annual Community Dinner April 22, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children (ages 3 – 12), and $20 for a family (2 adults and up to 4 kids to age 12). Children under 3 eat for free. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the church office at (651)462-5115. Proceeds of this event help support St. John’s Lutheran Church and its many community outreach programs.
This year’s event is one of special significance as St. John’s celebrates its first anniversary as a member of the Lutheran Congregations in Missions for Christ (LC-MC). St. John’s has experienced many blessings over the past year, including the addition of a new Pastoral Intern, Ben Hollingsead.
Hollingsead is a student at the Luther Seminary School in St. Paul. He is originally from Nebraska. Ben’s wife, Amber, is the daughter of Craig and Denise Dahl of North Branch.
When it came time to select a church for his internship, Ben searched for one within the LC-MC.
In January, he contacted St. John’s. It was the first and only call he needed to make.
In a unanimous decision by the Church Council, Hollingsead will be serving a nine-month internship with St. John’s beginning in May.
The church hopes the entire community will join them in welcoming Pastoral Intern Ben Hollingsead and his wife to the community.
