Staff and volunteers from Ecumen Parmly LifePointes and Fairview Lakes joined more than 80 health care volunteers at the State Capitol March 28, 2012 to meet with legislators and advocate for health care services in Minnesota. The volunteers took part in the Health Care Auxiliaries of Minnesota’s (HCAM) annual “Day at the Capitol, ” a collaborative effort supported by the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) and Aging Services of Minnesota.

The group met and discussed the current issues brought to the legislature regarding senior health care and hospital health services with Rep. Bob Barrett and Sen. Sean Nienow.

“We were received with enthusiasm and encouragement”, said Emily Carlson Parmly’s volunteer coordinator, “We were so thrilled to have this opportunity to discuss these important issues with both Rep. Barrett and Sen. Nienow. They were very gracious, and listened to all our concerns.”
