Ecumen Parmly LifePointes and North Branch welcome Christa Hoiland, M.D. and Michael Hoiland, Psy.D. as the newest members.
Dr. Christa Hoiland assumed a new role as medical director and director of geriatric care across the Fairview Lakes region after serving as a geriatrician and family medicine provider at Fairview Chisago Lakes Clinic in Chisago City for 10 years.
In her new capacity with Fairview Geriatric Services, Dr. Hoiland provides medical direction at Ecumen Parmly LifePointes in Chisago City and Ecumen North Branch (formerly The Villages) in North Branch.
She also serves as the medical attending physician for the short-term rehabilitation units at these facilities as well as serving the medical needs of long-term and memory care patients.
Dr. Michael Hoiland is pleased to have the opportunity to provide mental health consultation services to Parmly residents and staff beginning April 12. He earned a doctorate degree in clinical health psychology and focused several years of dissertation work on depression and dementia in the elderly.
Licensed to practice psychology in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin since 1998, Dr. Michael Hoiland has worked in clinics, hospitals, emergency rooms, Alzheimer’s and transitional care units, and long-term care facilities serving patients with various aging, medical illness, and coping issues.
He will be at Parmly twice a month and plans to serve Ecumen North Branch in the near future.
