Henry J. Schwegman
Henry grew up and graduated from Taylors Falls High School. He joined the Army and was stationed in India during WWII, spent 7 years in road construction, drove the Taylors Falls river boats, and was Postmaster at the Taylors Falls Post Office for 28 years before retiring.
Henry enjoyed salmon fishing on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, being around the guys deer hunting, meeting friends at the Chisago House, wintering in Texas, swimming, golfing, watching television and dirt track auto racing, especially Cedar Lake Speedway. Henry was a 60+ year member of the VFW and American Legion.
Henry is preceded in death by his wife Leona and sister Loretta.
He is survived by his children Randy (Terri) Schwegman, Linda (Sanford) Brink, and Becky Schwegman; grandchildren Matt (Christine) Schwegman, Than Schwegman, Caleb (Bridget) Schwegman, Beka (Chris) Nieber, Meghan Simmons, April Simmons, and Taylor Brink; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Raymond and Bob Heisick; and many other family and friends.
Visitation Sunday from 5 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola and one hour prior to the mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Church of St. Joseph in Taylors Falls, Minnesota.
Interment at Kahbakong Cemetery in Taylors Falls.
