NB boys golf ranked fourth in NSC

The North Branch boys golf team took third place with a score of 155 out of 10 teams at a conference meet April 24 at Victory Links Golf Course in Minneapolis.

The boys finished ahead of Benilde-St. Margaret’s (159), Totino-Grace (159), Chisago Lakes (163), St. Francis (163), Irondale (172), Fridley (185) and Robbinsdale Cooper (207). Only Spring Lake Park (149) and St. Louis Park (148) carded lower scores.

Joe Fairbanks shot a 37, while Jared Houle and Mitch Barg both came in with 38. Regan Nelson finished with 42, while John Buboltz and Nick Kress both ended with a 43.

The North Branch boys golf team tied for fifth place with Totino-Grace with a score of 159 out of 10 teams at a conference meet April 25 at Columbia Golf Course in Minneapolis.

Placing ahead of Irondale (161), St. Francis (162), Fridley (178) and Robbinsdale Cooper (203), the boys finished behind Chisago Lakes (157), Spring Lake Park (155), St. Louis Park (151) and Benilde-St. Margaret’s (150).

Kress came in with a 38, followed by Fairbanks with 39. Nelson and Houle both carded a 41, while Barg ended with 42 and Buboltz finished with a 43.

The fourth in the North Suburban Conference ranked North Branch boys golf team will compete at Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Andover Wednesday, April 2 before competing at Minneapolis Golf Course Monday, May 7. The boys golf team will then compete at Victory Links in Blaine Tuesday, May 8. All three meets are conference meets, which begin at 1:45 p.m. with the Viking team scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
