Jacobson Elementary students were excited to receive a collection of their own writings in hard cover book form following a presentation May 7 inside the school gymnasium. Sixth grade teacher Ashley Lakeberg worked with the publishing company Studentreasures on participating in the book project, which grew from her reading class to each grade last month. Younger students wrote on what they like about school, and others did personal narratives on family vacations, persuasive letters called “Dear Mayor,” and poetry for National Poetry Month.
