Each year the Minnesota Federal Executive Board (FEB) recognizes outstanding Federal Civil Servants whose performance has earned them the distinguished title, “Civil Servant of the Year.”

Tom Lewis of North Branch was a 2012 recipient, representing the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Human Resources Division (USDA, APHIS, HRD).

Lewis received this award based on his consistent high quality of service as a Personnel Security Specialist for USDA’s Marketing and Regulatory Programs.  As a 20-year Army veteran, Lewis advocates for Veteran Hiring initiatives, actively supporting Veteran’s Employment Services.  He has been with USDA since August 2006.

Lewis is the son of Mary Ann Lewis, also of North Branch, who attended the ceremony, and the late William L. Lewis.  Also attending the ceremony was Lewis’s wife Robin, sister Sue Lewis, and his very proud HR Personnel Security co-workers.
