Police: Rush City man flees on stolen ATV

A Rush City man who reportedly stole an ATV and then fled from police while driving the off-road vehicle has been arrested.

Roger Nahl, 28, allegedly stole the ATV from Pine County.

Around 2:21 p.m. May 27, a North Branch police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on an individual riding an ATV in the area of Harder Avenue and 412th Street.

The man, later identified as Nahl, was driving in a careless manner and when the officer attempted to pull him over, he zipped into an agricultural field for approximately 2 miles. He then fled on foot into a wooded area.

North Branch Police officers and Chisago County Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter around the area with a K9 unit.

Nahl was found in the wooded area unconscious.

He was treated at the scene and then transported by North Air Care to North Memorial Medical Center.

Nahl has since been released from the hospital and is currently being held at the Chisago County Jail on numerous charges.
