Bandits win 2 more to stay in first place

The Nowthen Knights came to Cambridge on Wednesday evening to rekindle an old metro Minny League rivalry.

Trailing 3-0, the home team scored two in the 8th and won it with 2 more in the 9th on a walk off, 2 RBI single by Tim Koplitz.

Ross Daugherty went 8.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 8. Kevin Auth faced the last two hitters and got the win. Ben Poidinger led the attack with 2 hits with singles by Josh Coleman, Tyler Kronstedt, Auth and Koplitz. Coleman had a memorable game at shortstop for the home team.

The Bandits continue to get excellent pitching and timely hitting to go along with steady defense.

On June 1, Rum River and the Quamba Cubs battled for the Old Black Bat on a beautiful evening for a ballgame in Quamba.

Cole Willcoxen took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and allowed only 3 hits. Tyler Kronstedt battled control problems but finished with 3 scoreless, hitless innings. And the Bandits won 7-3.

The 11-hit attack was led by Mike Koplitz, Alex Kordiak and Kronstedt, each delivering 3 base knocks. Tim Hale set a Bandits record with four stolen bases on the night.
