Eleven file for five county seats
Due to redistricting, all five Chisago County Commissioner districts are up for re-election this coming fall. When the filing period ended Tuesday, June 5, the following had filed as candidates:
District I: Lora Walker (I), Lyle Johnson, Darrel Trulson
District II: Rick Greene (I)
District II: George McMahon (I), Curt Flug
District IV: Ben Montzka (I)
District V: Mike Robinson (I), Rick Smisson, Jonathan Glassel, Tim O’Keefe
District one includes Center City, North Branch precinct C, Chisago Lake North precinct and Lent. The term will be two years.
District two includes Amador, Franconia, Shafer city, Shafer Township precinct A and B, Sunrise and Taylors Falls. This will be an election for a four-year term.
District three includes Chisago City, Chisago Lake South precinct and Lindstrom and will be for a four-year term.
District four includes Stacy and Wyoming. This is a two-year term.
District five includes Fish Lake Township, Harris, Nessel Township, North Branch precinct A, Rush City and Rushseba Township. This will be a four-year term.
County Auditor Dennis Freed said there will be a primary election in Districts 1 and 5. That election will take place Aug. 14.
Red Bull Day is June 24
Head on down to Stacy, Sunday, June 24 for the 4th annual Red Bull Military Appreciation Day. Includes military display, kids games, food, rock climbing wall and on Saturday, June 23, the Red Bulls Motorcycle Run.
