Three file for NB mayor, four seek council seats
By Derrick Knutson—
It’s election season.
In North Branch, municipal candidates likely won’t have the cash to throw at TV or radio ads, but they’ll be out in the community knocking on doors and trying to secure your vote.
Current mayor Amy Oehlers is not running for re-election.
Three candidates are vying for her post.
Council member Ron Lindquist is making a run at the seat.
Non-council members Kristen Hagen Kennedy and Robert Winter are also on the ballot.
There are two seats up for grabs on the council.
Council members Joel McPherson and Theresa Furman will compete for those seats against challengers Emil Dahlberg and Joyce Borchardt.
Chisago County Auditor Dennis Freed said North Branch will have a primary Aug. 14 for the mayoral election to pare the field to two candidates.
