Mrs. Bernice Drevecky of Pine City died Sunday June 10, 2012 at the Golden LivingCenter in Rush City at the age of 83 years.
Bernice Catherine (Haug) Drevecky was born on November 5, 1928 to Peter and Florence (Sperling) Haug. She grew up in rural Pine City on a farm.
She played the piano and organ, as many of the Haug children did at the encouragement of their parents. At the age of 16 she moved into the Pine City Hospital dormitory and worked in nursing.
In her adult years she worked at the Rush City Hospital.
Bernice and Edward Drevecky married on June 13, 1946 and together they raised their three children Terry, Wanda and Craig and made their home in Rock Creek for many years.
She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, listening to music, her family and many friends.
Bernice is survived by her children: Terry Drevecky and wife Jeanne of Grand Canyon, Arizona, Wanda Johnson of Pine City, Craig Drevecky and wife Alexandra of Roseville; grandchildren: David Drevecky, Caroline Orth, Clay (Kristie) Drevecky, Katie (Gary) Soule; great-grandchildren: Terry, Morgan, Emma, Shelby, Noelle, Brittany, Nicole, Jess; sister Rosemarie Hewson and her husband Ron of Rush City; brother John Haug and his wife Margaret of St. Cloud.
She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Florence Haug, husband Edward Drevecky, sisters Lucille Haug and Harriet Nelson, brothers: Willard, Robert and Harold. Granddaughter Jody Lynn Drevecky.
A visitation and reviewal was held Thursday, June 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the Swanson Funeral Chapel.
Father Dennis Evenson will officiate the memorial service for Mrs. Bernice Drevecky on Thursday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at the Swanson Funeral Chapel with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
Music will be provided by Teresa Johnston and Glenna Reierson.
Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Pine City. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
