Bandits kick off tourney with opening game Friday, June 29

Come on out and enjoy great food, music and baseball this weekend at the 5th Annual Bandits Bash at Larson Field in Cambridge. Admission is free.

The Rum River Bandits will play host to the Bloomington Bandits, Blue Package Delivery (defending champions), Nowthen Knights, Quamba Cubs, Champlin LoGators, Princeton Panthers and St. Francis Saints.

The tournament opens with two games on Friday night, June 29, when Rum River takes on Quamba at 6:30 followed by Blue Package vs. Nowthen at 8:30. The opening round finishes on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Champlin vs. Princeton and Bloomington vs. St. Francis at 12:30.

On Saturday at 3 p.m., the consolation bracket begins for those who lost on Friday night. Then at 5:30 Saturday, the previous night’s winners will play, followed by the second semi-final, pitting Saturday morning’s winners at 7:45 p.m.

On Sunday, the teams that lost Saturday morning will face off at 10:30 a.m., with the winner of that game competing for fifth place at 12:45 p.m. The third place game will follow, and the championship game is slated to start at 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

All games will be seven innings. Presentation of the championship awards and Tournament MVP Bat will follow the title game.

Tournament organizers welcome Killebrew Root Beer as the primary sponsor.
