The North Branch American Legion Post #85 would like to thank everyone who helped make our 2012 Midsummer celebration a success.
The following groups stepped up to make our Midsummer Days run smoothly: the city of North Branch, North Branch Fire Department, North Branch Police Dept., American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, VFW Post #6424, Legion Riders Post 85, Boy Scout Troop #141 and the Midsummer Ambassadors.
This year, the cost to put on our Midsummer Parade was approximately $5,500. Thank you to the following businesses for making it possible by sponsoring a unit for the parade: North Branch Outlets, North Branch Water & Light, Hermann Insurance, County Market, Concrete Pump & Repair, Branch Manufacturing, Casey’s General Store, Anderson Windows, American Legion Post 85 and the North Star Camera Club of Minnesota for supplying convertibles for the parade.
Thank you to the following businesses for hosting the advance ticket sale for the carnival: Ace Hardware, Associated Bank in North Branch, Casey’s General Store, County Market, North Branch Golf Course, Rod’s Country Market, Skelly’s Hallmark, Tim’s Country Cupboard, Kaffe Stuga, The Olde Brick Inn, North Country Coffee in Tanger Mall and Bob’s Barber Shop.
A free lunch was given this year thanks to the North Branch Chamber of Commerce, Karl’s TV-Audio-Appliance & Furniture, Rapid Press Printing and Copy Center, A&C Automotive & Machine Inc. and the American Legion.
Thanks to all who donated time, money, products and services to make the Kiddie Olympics a hit with the children of North Branch. The Kiddie Bingo was a huge success again this year as is evident by the smile on the face of Hannah Christensen, our Grand Prize winner.
A special thank you for the Air Show put on during the parade by the North American Flight Team sponsored by Specialty Press, Peoples Bank and Vibo Docks.
The fireworks display was sponsored entirely by the American Legion. Please let us know if this is an event you would like to see repeated. This was truly a community effort with community support and participation. Thanks to everyone, and we hope to see you all next year.
