Lindstrom Loppet raises $6,000 for scholarships, youth health programs

The weather was great for the loppet.

Thanks to the support of many community sponsors and 540 people who registered for the July 7 event, this year’s 24th annual Lindstrom Loppet 5K run raised more than $6,000. Hosted by Fairview Lakes Medical Center, the race begins and ends at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom. Proceeds go to the Fairview Foundation for support of an annual Fairview Lakes Auxiliary scholarship, depression screenings in area high schools and other youth health-related programs. Among the 512 runners crossing the finish line were Pastor Ric Stanghalle, left), of Lakes Free Church, and Fairview Lakes President Steve Housh, who completed his first Loppet this year.
