Road construction crews working on the Highway 95/County Road 30 intersection in North Branch unearthed a bit of history Friday, July 20.

While digging under the sidewalk near Pizza Hut, they came across an old wagon wheel.

Randy Houle, superintendent for C.W. Houle out of Shoreview, said workers found the wheel about three feet down.

“We’re still looking for the carriage and the ponies down there,” he quipped.

Houle said his company doesn’t plan to keep the artifact, so “if somebody wants it, they can have it.”
