Stacy Daze still the place to be after forty-two years

(slide show) It’s been 42 years since a few residents in Stacy got together and dreamed up a summer festival that celebrates the community.

Stacy resident and one of the Stacy Daze founders Mel Aslakson surveyed the crowd at Lions Park on Saturday and said, “Whoever thought it would be this big?”

Stacy Daze commenced on Friday evening with a car show at Doyle Field, continued through Saturday with games, the parade and softball tournaments and wound up that evening with fireworks and music.

In between, Stacy residents past and present reminisced and held court over all things Stacy, close enough to the city for fun and games, far enough away for that small town and rural advantage.
