Primary election results UPDATED

The Primary Election was held Tuesday, Aug. 14 and voters in Chisago County came out to select final candidates for the Nov. 6 General Election. Thirteen percent of the 30,935 registered voters turned out for the election. Most of the voting action centered around County Commissioner Districts 1 and 5 where seven candidates were on the ballot. Here are the results.
Results from District 1 were Lora Walker 385, Darrel Trulson 416 and Lyle Johnson 164.
Results from District 5 were Mike Robinson 656, Rick Smisson 180, Tim O’Keefe 82, and Johnathan Glassel 116.

In other races in Chisago County voters chose Kurt Bills for US Senator (Rep) 717, over David Carlson 408, and Bob Carney Jr 182.
Congressman Chip Cravaack garnered 100 percent of the Republican votes for US Representative Dist. 8 at 1,428.
On the Democrats side in Dist. 8, Rick Nolan received 994 votes to Tarryl Clark’s 962, with Jeff Anderson coming in third at 299.
Senator Amy Klobuchar came away with 2,053 votes.
For Chief Justice Supreme Court, Chisago County voted this way: Lorie Skjerven Gildea 1,458, Jill Clark 690, Dan Griffith 1,059.
The vote for Associate Justice 4 – Supreme Court was as follows: Alan Nelson 687, Tim Tingelstad 1,024, and David R. Stras 1,416.
