Troy Heling to perform a “Cool Time Concert”
We ‘R Able continues its “Cool Time Concerts” with a performance by Troy Heling of Rush City, on Thursday, Aug. 23. He will play his guitar at the North Country Coffee Shop in the North Branch Outlets beginning at 6 p.m. Heling performs a variety of music and has been in the music business for 30 years, both as a guitar teacher and a performer in rock, top 40, blues, country, jazz, stage, praise, and backup bands.
The “Cool Time Concerts” begin at 5 p.m. with a set meal served by North Country Coffee, with music beginning at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Pre-registration is required by Aug. 16 by calling 320-358-1220.
Play KUBB, a Viking throwing game, in Rush City
We ‘R Able invites everyone to join Jed Bingham for a game of KUBB at the Rush City downtown park, on Saturday, Aug. 25, 10:30 a.m. Bingham has been playing this Viking throwing game for many years and can help each participant learn the game. It consists of two teams, each with wooden blocks called kubbs. The object is to knock over the opponents wooden blocks, and then to knock over the king.
Pre-registration is needed by Aug. 18 and there is a modest fee. Call 320-358-1220. We ‘R Able provides accessible programs for adults with disabilities ages 14 and up, and the general public. All are welcome to attend. Volunteers are also welcome.
