Every year ECE recognizes the importance of volunteers and community involvement by presenting the Touchstone Energy® Community Award to a local organization.
Nominations for the award are now being accepted. Any organization in ECE’s service territory is eligible to compete for the award. Civic organizations and non-profits are eligible to submit a nomination if they have enhanced the quality of life in their community through a special project or the ongoing work they do. Community members may also submit a nomination on behalf of a deserving organization.
Nomination forms are available at eastcentralenergy.com or call 1-800-254-7944, ext. 8046. Completed forms must be received at ECE’s Braham headquarters by Monday, October 29, 2012.
The local winner receives a plaque and a $500 cash prize. The organization will then compete with winners from other electric cooperatives for statewide recognition and $1,000.
Hinckley American Legion Post 388 received ECE’s Touchstone Energy Community Award in 2011 for organizing a countywide ceremony of remembrance on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
