Kids learn about hometown paper

Youngsters from Room for Growing child care visited the Post Review at their new location in the Lake State Federal Credit Union building last Tuesday.

They were greeted by editor MaryHelen Swanson who was assisted by associate editor Derrick Knutson and news reporter Jon Tatting in explaining what the Post Review newspaper is all about.

The group was shown a volume from 1958 and learned about the different sections of the paper. The children were asked to share what they would like to be when they grow up.

Two decided that being a reporter would be good, another wanted to work with vacuum cleaners, a couple of young ladies wanted to be princesses and one young man wanted to be a ghost.

The children were each given a copy of the paper and then they headed off to Central Park.
