Tiger volleyball opens season with win over Barnum

In its first game of the season on Aug. 28, the Rush City volleyball team defeated Barnum 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-18) on the Tigers’ home court.

The team was 90 percent serving against the Bombers.

Summer Garr made five kills and five ace serves; Mackenzie Sherrill had five kills; Abby Scherer had two ace serves, four digs and a great night of passing, while Sierra Shrunk had 12 set assists.

And I know some of our younger players were very anxious and nervous about their first varsity match. All in all, it was a nice win.”
