Early childhood screening is mandatory in Minnesota
In Minnesota early childhood screening is mandatory before entry into kindergarten. The North Branch Area Public Schools District offers this service at no cost and screening is scheduled for the second Thursday evening of each month October – May. Screening is an early look at a child’s development and is conducted by qualified professionals to help identify specific needs a child may have.
The State of Minnesota requires a health and development screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. Screening should be completed before a child turns 4 years old, specifically between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4.
Screening is conducted at North Branch Area Education Center, 38705 Grand Avenue, North Branch.
