Guest commentary: NBAEF: Who are we?

North Branch Area Education Foundation (NBAEF) is a foundation that was started in 2008, by a small group of volunteers who saw a need.  They wanted to help North Branch Area Schools, enhance academic excellence in the classroom by raising money to provide grants to educators in North Branch.

Today, our vision is the same: 1) To provide new opportunities;  2) To enhance educational opportunities; 3) To take K-12 education to a higher level; 4) To leave a legacy in our community; and 5) To build a network of individuals and organizations that will change the lives of students through excellence.

NBAEF has grown over the past four years, and currently has 15 members on its board.  This year alone we have raised just over $50,000 and awarded $20,000 in grants to educators in the North Branch Area schools.

This would not be possible without the generous donations from local businesses and other donors, and hard work and dedication from the board, and countless other volunteers.

We all share a passion for excellence in education in North Branch.  We are excited for the future of our students.  We hope that you will take time to get to know us, and help this legacy grow in our community.

NBAEF will be hosting our third Annual Perfect 10 event October 7, at Stars and Strikes in Wyoming.  If you are interested in learning more about NBAEF, or if you’d like to volunteer, become a sponsor, or make a prize donation for our Perfect 10 event, visit our website:  nbaef.org and click on “contact.”
