The Tiger volleyball team convincingly won over both Isle and Pine City last week.
The team took the trip to Isle and served 93 percent as a team, taking down the Huskies in three sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.
Senior Mackenzie Sherrill hit 16 kills and made five digs, while freshman Summer Garr was 25 for 25 at the line, knocking down five kills and three ace serves.
Senior Abby Scherer got under 16 digs, while senior Sierra Schrunk made 15 set assists, one ace serve and eight digs.
“The girls had a tough weekend at the Ogilvie invitation this past Saturday,” said Coach Eric Telander. “I think that they did some thinking over the weekend before our game against Isle. We looked like a different team against Isle, we moved and communicated really well tonight.”
Last Thursday the Dragons came to visit and the Tigers handily defeated them in three sets 25-8, 25-18, 25-20.
Senior Alecia Meier pounded over five kills, while Taylor Youngblom made six set assists and one ace serve.
Garr hit three kills and three ace serves, while Sherrill scored six kills and five ace serves. Schrunk made nine set assists, one ace serve and four digs, while Scherer made nine digs.
“We played fairly well tonight,” said Coach Telander. “We didn’t get into a groove and play the way I would have liked them too, but we will take the win!”

The Rush City volleyball team has a 3-1 Great River Conference and 5-5 overall record. The Tigers will host the East Central Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
