Ranked fourth in the state with 106 saves, Viking senior goalkeeper Alyssa Rupp contributed to the girls soccer team’s win over Robbinsdale Cooper and tie with Chisago Lakes Area last week.
On Sept. 11 the team made the trip to New Hope and defeated Robbinsdale Cooper 1-0 with senior forward Bayley Ertl kicking the ball past the Hawks’ goalkeeper early in the first half.
“The team played outstanding defense to hold off Robbinsdale,” said Coach Doug Larson. “The defense was lead by Alyssa Rupp, and there was great individual plays by all of the team. Plus the offense missed on a few more opportunities in the second half to put the game away.”
Last Thursday the team traveled to Chisago Lakes Area High School and fought a defensive game, which ended in a scoreless tie in overtime with the Wildcats.

The North Branch girls soccer team is ranked fifth in the North Suburban Conference with a 2-2-1 conference and 5-2-2 overall record. The Vikings will host the Columbia Heights Hylanders (1-7-1) at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.
