The North Branch girls cross country team took fifth out of 20 teams, while the boys team placed 17th out of 22 at the Milaca Mega Meet Saturday, Sept. 29. Rhianna Rinke was the first Viking girl to cross the finish line coming in fourth out of 148 runners, with a new personal best time of 14:41.7. Casey Hovland placed 19th, Haley Huset 22nd, Cassidy White 46th, Claire Schraufnagel 90th, Alyssa Ramberg 94th and Laura Dolezalek 103rd. Ean Charpentier was the first Viking boy finisher, coming in to place 51st out of 149 competitors. Zachary Peno placed 91st, Kyle Granger 92nd, Jake Petrik 109th, Alex Fitcha 114th, Noah Hubbard 118th and Scott Ramberg 144th. The North Branch girls and boys cross country teams will compete in an invitational at St. Croix Falls High School at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
