Local municipal liquor stores are joing the fight against hunger during the month of October by participating in the 5th annual Coors Light – MN Municipal Food Drive.
In 2011, they helped raise more than 68,000 pounds of food for local food shelves.
The goal for 2012 is 75,000 pounds.
Besides the regular food donations, they accept field produce and bottled water. Plus each $1 in cash donations will be counted as one pound of food.
The individual facility in each category with the highest weight donated will earn a $1,000 donation to their local food shelf, and through a random drawing, 10 $100 donations will be made to food shelves of participating facilities.
Some of the area’s municipal liquor stores that are participating include North Branch Liquors, Stacy Wine and Spirits/Stacy Sports Bar & Grill, Northbound Liquor-Cambridge, Isanti Liquor, Home Town Liquor-Braham, North End Liquor-Rush City, and Lindstrom Liquor.
Please bring along a food shelf donation each time you visit a participating municipal liquor store throughout the month of October.
