The Initiative Foundation named Traci Tapani to its regional board of trustees. She will serve a renewable three-year term.
Tapani is co-president of Wyoming Machine based in Stacy, Minn., managing the company’s sales, production, and quality departments. Traci became an owner of Wyoming Machine in 1994 and has shared the president position with her sister, Lori, since 1997.
“Traci’s passion for manufacturing, combined with her community involvement, make her an excellent addition to our board as we address challenges facing central Minnesota businesses and communities,” said Kathy Gaalswyk, Initiative Foundation president.
“As a business owner in Chisago County, I believe that investing my time and energy in the community is important,” said Tapani. “I am excited to have the opportunity to serve in a capacity which will help the Initiative Foundation fulfill the mission of building and sustaining thriving communities.”
Traci earned a bachelor of science degree in Business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is actively involved in volunteer activities that promote math and science education, technical training, and careers in manufacturing.
The Initiative Foundation exists to improve the quality of life and build stronger communities within its 14-county region of central Minnesota by offering leadership training, business loans, nonprofit grants, and donor services.
