Clarice D’Mae Olson, of Rush Point, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge, Minn. She was 76 years old.
Clarice was born Jan. 8, 1936 to Reuben and Mildred (Swanson) Lind in Fish Lake Township. She attended District 33 grade school. Clarice graduated in 1954 from Rush City High School. She was the high school salutatorian. Following high school, she attended Gustavus Adolphus College for one year.
On September 24, 1955, Clarice was united in marriage to Curtis Olson at Fish Lake Lutheran Church. The couple was married for 57 years. Clarice and Curtis were blessed with three children: Larry, Kevin, and Nancy. The couple lived in South Minneapolis, and later, Columbia Heights, where they raised their family. In 1993, Clarice and Curtis moved to Rush Point.
Clarice worked various jobs over the years, including keypunch operator, cashier, and, most importantly, homemaker. Clarice enjoyed reading, and she loved solving crossword puzzles. Family and cats were her greatest joys. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and had been a member of the Rush City Sno-Bugs since 1976.
Clarice was preceded in death by sons, Larry and Kevin; sister, Helen Zemek.
She is survived by husband, Curtis; daughter, Nancy (Michael) Bovy; daughter-in-law, Joy Olson; grandsons, Andrew Olson and Alex Bovy; brothers, Donald Lind, Arthur Lind, Eugene Lind; nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Sept. 29, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rush Point. Rev. Keith Kolzow officiated. Music was provided by Marian Eklund (soloist) and Janice Johnson (organist). The pallbearers were Andrew Olson, Alex Bovy, Duane Zemek, David Cmiel, Tom Lind, and Terry Lind. Burial was at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Rush Point.
