NB volleyball makes it to tournament final
The North Branch volleyball team competed in a tournament at Duluth East High School Sept. 29 and had a strong showing.
In pool play, the Vikings won over Forest Lake 2-0 (25-23, 25-11) and Barnum 2-0 (Set scores not available).
In the finals, the team defeated Cambridge-Isanti 2-1 (22-25, 25-18, 15-12), but fell 2-0 to Hill-Murray (20-25, 19-25).
The Vikings then hosted and lost 3-1 (23-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-25) to the Totino-Grace Eagles last Thursday.
The North Branch volleyball team is 5-2 in the North Suburban Conference and 12-7 overall. The Vikings will host the Irondale Knights (4-18) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 before traveling to Columbia Heights to face the Hylanders (2-15) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.
