Ready for change

To the Editor:

As a long-time resident of North Branch, I am ready for a change.  The burden for individual homeowners continues to rise, yet our city and schools are underfunded.   We need a leader who understands that a vibrant community balances homes with businesses.  We need a smart, creative leader who supports the local businesses while attracting new businesses that can enhance our community.  For this reason, I will be voting for Kirsten Hagen Kennedy for Mayor.

I had the privilege of working with Kirsten when she served as Student Senate President for the Cambridge Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.  Kirsten was an active campus leader, seeking student comments and concerns and working with the administration to find creative solutions.  Kristen is a proven leader who takes the time to research the issues and makes decisions based on facts.     She balances this with an intense interest in people and a willingness to advocate for all community members.

Like many of us, Kirsten serves numerous roles.  She is a single mother of five children who is completing a Bachelor’s degree, yet I run into her at almost every community function.  She has a tireless devotion to the roles she plays and uses every opportunity to teach her children about the importance of civic engagement.   Kirsten has a vision for the future of North Branch that includes diversifying the business base and developing the type of community we all wish to live in.  Please join me in voting for Kirsten Kennedy as Mayor of North Branch, we need a leader like Kirsten.
