Turnovers prove costly for Vikings on gridiron

Irondale overwhelmed the North Branch football team last Friday and sent the Vikings home with a 68-13 defeat.
Both Viking touchdowns were made by Tony Denn on passes thrown by Zack Sundly. Logan Klatt successfully kicked the extra points.
“We fumbled four times and threw one interception and that really hurt us in the game,” said coach Nick Nitti. “We were held to 167 yards of offense, while Irondale had 373 yards of offense.
North Branch football is fifth in the North Suburban Conference with a 3-3 conference and 3-4 overall record. The Vikings will host the 3-4 Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights (see update above) on Senior and Parents Night, including the Tackle Cancer fundraiser, slated for Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
