NB loses big but comes up big for Tackle Cancer

The regular season concluded for North Branch football on Senior and Parents Night Oct. 17 when the Vikings lost 38-7 to the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights.

Tony Denn got the only Viking touchdown, scoring on a 42-yard run. Logan Klatt was good for the point after. North Branch finished with 238 total yards to Benilde-St. Margaret’s 378 yards.

The North Branch Community Education Dance and Cheerleading Squad performed during halftime at last week’s final regular season football game.

On a high note, students and fans filled buckets with coins and bills buckets during the game and at the high school to raise $500 for KARE 11 television personality Randy Shaver’s Tackle Cancer program. The sixth grade youth football team also collected over $350 at County Market on

Buckets were passed around during the game and at the high school where $500 was raised for Randy Shaver’s Tackle Cancer initiative. Fundraising continues through this week.

Oct. 14. Fundraising for this program continues through this week at all North Branch schools and establishments in the community.

 

The North Branch football team ended the regular season tied for fifth place in the North Suburban Conference with a 3-4 conference and 3-5 overall record.

The No. 4 section seeded Vikings will have hosted the No. 5 seeded Grand Rapids in the section quarterfinal Tuesday, Oct. 23. The winning team will face No. 1 seed host Hermantown in the section semifinal at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. The Section 7AAAA Championship will be held at the home of the high seed at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
